CENOTES X-KEKEN & SAMULA

Having shown much evidence of valor to the Lords of Xibalba, the Metnal of the Mayas (hell) in the dominion of darkness, the adept’s next experience after leaving the cave, was to refresh their bodies in a cenote.  The cenotes are deep natural wells. They are perhaps the most interesting natural phenomenon of Yucatan. These wells were called ts' ts'onot by the Mayas.  These cenotes are inside an underground cavern.  The sun goes through a small natural inlet at the top of the dome, illuminating the interior and creating a striking image.

The water is a Turquoise Blue decorated with stalactites, which descend from the vault and duplicate your image in the water.  The light that comes from the ceiling increases its Majesty.  The water is so clean and clear you can observe the small black fish that dwell in it, it is ideal for swimming.
